Emil. M. Cioran is one of the most unusual thinkers of the twentieth century. Transgressing all boundaries and guided by a pessimism that at times seems to point to suicide, the Romanian author is, however, startlingly attractive and lucid. His books are a reflection on the emptiness, the meaninglessness of life and despair, and want to be, above all, "a real danger to the reader.
